The Lady Vanishes
The 1979 version. This was a remake of a Hitchcock classic, and was trashed by critics.
I think it was pretty good. It’s not that dissimilar to other Hitchcock mainstream ventures like.
It concerns mostly Elliott Gould and Cybill Shepard running around in a train, trash talking one another while solving a conspiracy involving Nazis in 1939. She mocks Hitler in a bar, but they are after Miss Marple, who is some sort of spy private teacher.
Cybill is a mix between Ginger Rogers and Emmanuelle Seigner (switch the names around depending on your age). She’s very much underused on, of course Scorsese can’t write woman characters.
