The Legend of Tarzan
Lawrence of Congo, but with animals! And America as the anti-colonial force, oh the irony.
This is sold as the gritty “realistic” Tarzan, but it’s all a sham, this is as fantastic as John Carter. Now low gravity, but lianas made from carbon nanotubes.
The plot is basically Lawrence of Arabia. External messiah marshals animal species and tribes against a foreign invader. Just like Larry, the “liberator” represents the British Empire.
A blockbuster CGI-fest, good enough for the lazy Saturday afternoon. Pretty much all actors are type cast, so they just do their thing and that’s it.
