WTF did I just watch?
The setting is some small town in rural Australia. A family with skeletons in the closet, a weirdo police officer, kids disappearing.
Then you know them better, after the kids go missing, and they problems are even worse. Then the storm hits, it only gets worse.
The father travels 600 km to attempt to punch a guy, then proceeds to actually punch another different guy. Then there’s some crazy “sex scene” out of the blue, that never gets mentioned again. Finally, the mother goes batty after the boy shows up and streaks around main street.
The ending just lets everything unresolved. We don’t know if the girl was being abused by her father. We don’t know the fate of the detective. Just nothingness.
Cool visuals though, can’t go wrong with the outback.
