Teknolust
What the, what? Virgin scientist cyborg-clones herself thrice, in the Three Faces of Eve personas, but eventually finds true love herself, amidst a potential pandemic of barcode rashes and male impotence.
What’s better, the cyborg-clones need nourishment, in the form of human semen. The Seductress Ruby (good god) dutifully collects human semen by prowling bars where geek tech guys hang out and practising safe sex, taking the cum back to her sisters for her to INJECT INTO THEIR VEINS.
In the end, Ruby also finds love, with some copy shop guy who keeps practising ballet moves and lives with her mother, a borscht-making machine. Yeah, I don’t get it either.
Completely crazy, the whole thing feels like an acid trip on a computer shop. Set in San Francisco, everyone has an Apple iBook G3 and drives a weird electric car prototype. As zeerust as is gets.
At one point, one of the cyborg-clone is asked to act more robotic on the camgirl site they earn their keep. The scientist lady mentions she likes dressing up and be someone else for a while: beats being herself all the time. Of course they are all played by Tilda Swinton, who else? It’s the perfect casting choice.
This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
