Machete
This is a Mexican, not a Mexican’t. Just the right amount of silly over-the-top B-movie schlock, mixed with hardcore politics. Canonically a part of the Spy Kids universe.
Dat cast! I think Steven Segal was chosen for the lulz and the rest of the cast hates him, so he barely interacts with anyone outside Skype calls. It’s really only the final showdown that counts, and he just kills himself in the end. Having Lindsay Lohan as a drug-addicted nymphomaniac incestuous porn actress / heiress is ballsy, all around.
The rest of the cast are the usual Rodriguez crew. Danny Trejo gets to play a Mexican James Bond, Michelle Rodriguez is badass with Spanish accent, and Jessica Alba is badass without a Spanish accent (since she works for ICE). The priest is Cheech, who is this is? The Ted Cruz wannabe is a comfortable De Niro.
