The Chronicles of Riddick
If Pitch Black is Alien, this is some weird ass Aliens. There are some baffling hairstyles in here, just hideous mohawk-mullet hybrids.
After escaping from the last bus crash, Riddick hides out in the sticks, but he is eventually sniffed out by another bounty hunter, Tooms, this time snarky and extrovert. Riddick disposes of his four men crew and takes his ship.
Apparently, the only one who knew where he might go is the imam. Riddick drops by and demands explanations, but the imam brings out an Elemental Judy Dench that asks for help in dealing with some religious locusts invading the known universe, the Necromorphs.
Just as Riddick refuses, they invade New Mecca. The imam is killed protecting his new family, but Riddick is busted by Tooms, which brings a five men crew now. Even though there’s a planet-killer combined arms invasion of the whole planet, that chickenshit Tooms ship escapes without much resistance, and brings him to the nearest triple max security prison: Crematoria.
Riddick is pretty pleased with the outcome, he was planning to go there anyway searching for Jack. She goes by Kyra now, and is pretty pissed her father figure left just as she most needed. After some rad fight scenes, they escape the prison just as some Necromorphs show up. They fight them too, but Riddick is stunned, and Kyra runs off in the ship.
Turns out the Necromorphs have a further political factions. The guy left behind is a higher-up mole, a secret Furyan in an anti-Furyan empire. That guy gives up his life so Riddick can kill the boss.
Beside secret Furyan, there’s also a couple plotting to take over power. He’s kinda dumb, but she is Lady Macbeth.
Kyra was busted and converted to Locustism, but her father bonds are stronger. She is killed in the fight, but Riddick kills the leader, seats on the throne and is now their leader. All hail Richard B. Riddick.
This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
