Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
This just IP, it has barely anything to do with Jumanji. It’s a souped up The Breakfast Club instead, with 30 year olds playing teenagers. In the Jumanji game universe, it’s a non-parody Land of the Lost.
Specifically, there’s now a “leader”, I guess it’s Emilio Estevez, playing by the kid from Hereditary and The Rock. There’s the other nerdy girl who stays alone, played by someone who could be her daughter and Karen Gillan. There’s the jock, played by some dude and a less punchable Kevin Hart. But the best is the popular alpha bitch, played by some valley girl and Jack Black, who keeps the teenage girl routine.
There’s the other kid that started playing the game in 96 and is stuck there ever since, one of the Jonas brothers, and Colin Hanks in the “future” present. Makes his love interest with a teenager extremely icky.
This could be much worse, it’s just extremely anodyne and safe. That NES massive resolution, even on a crappy CRT, but it’s all magic, you can’t complain.
This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
