Nocturnal Animals

I see, the book plot mirrors the “real life” plot, it’s a regret-filled letter twenty years in the making. Becoming one’s hateful parents, what a relatable problem. Those opening shots though, fucking modern art and its shock value.

But then, she gets stood up in the end. No redemption for thee, just wallow in our own suffering some more, unable to speak to anyone. She did harm him pretty badly, by why be petty? Why setup the whole charade, just to fuck with her after all this time? To run in her face how she turned into her mother?

In case you din’t notice all the crosses everywhere, this is extremely religious. How could I not notice she supposedly was thinking of having an abortion, but she does have a daughter, she didn’t go through with it. And the dying cop also has a daughter he barely even met.

Enormous cast of cameos, beside the principal people. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is mostly Texan, but he slips into Australian for a brief period, mate.

This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
