Bottoms
A little bit of good, a little bit of bad, an American Comedy through and through. Not great, but not awful either.
There’s plenty of good stuff:
- some erudite jokes
- the subject matter itself
- straight people exist as part of the plot
- Charlie XCX does one song
But there’s a lot of dross too:
- high school as a setting, but “students” in their late twenties
- extremely formulaic, follows the three act structure to a T
- Avril Lavigne sings a hit.
I think the good and bad cancels out, so this just meh.
