Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
The one with the big snake, big spider, and small pixies. The Lockhart teacher is incredible, once again Dumbledore fumbles the rotating position.
The Weasleys rescue Harry with the flying car and all, but like the rest of the series, is mostly set in stasis for ever. After being borked during the crash into the tree, it will rescue the gang from the giant spider, but will then live out his life in the forest, foraging for motor oil and brake pads.
Ginny had a literal word in the last film, and here she barely speaks too, even though she is pretty core to the plot. It’s purely protagonist driven, the rest of the world building is window dressing, it doesn’t live by itself. If the protagonists don’t see it, it remains in stasis.
Hermione remains bitchy, an “insufferable know-it-all”.
The ghost of the dead girl, Myrtle or something is that woman from Happy Valley, you can turn anyone into a kid with pigtails. She was freaking 37 when filming this, what the actual fuck.
From the plot hole department, the flashbacks all take place during freaking WW2, but this is not mentioned anywhere. You would need to wait for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for any acknowledgement of this.
The there’s this:
Hugh Grant was the first choice to play Gilderoy Lockhart
This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
