This is iffy, particularly towards the end, but that scene when the go to the school the first time is hilarious, it almost makes up for it. Almost.
Johnny Depp being brutally murdered is also funny. Nick Offerman goes full meta.
The more you think about the premise and everything that happens, the less fun it gets. It gets creepy.
Some of the fails are zeitgeist related: “Party Rock Anthem” is used unironically, for example.
Brie Larson is so young and cute, it’s creepy for her to be railroaded into hooking up with some older asshole, when she’s supposed to be a literal child.
