The Order
It’s about time somebody rips off Sicario, it truly is a spiritual successor. There are countless scenes lifted directly, the music is a soundalike, one of the protagonist gets shot in the chest. It’s less morally ambiguous, these are Nazis we are talking about.
The main moral ambiguity is the feds go all Waco on the dude and smoke him out of a house filled with ammo, with predictable consequences. There’s not even one undercover agent in the whole white supremacist operation, what a coincidence.
Usually, the guy that gets the guns is usually a fed. See also Operation Fast and Furious.
Our protagonist is no Matt, not even Alejandro. Hell, Matt’s role is taken by the main Nazi dude, he doesn’t get his hands dirty, he mostly sits in the car and waits for things to happen around him.
The most shocking part is seeing an illustration in the book where a gallows is setup in front of the Capitol. That’s literally January 6, and the race traitor was Mike Pence, of all people. The guy who won’t be alone in a room with a woman other than his wife?
This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
