First up, technically this is beyond the pale. “Based on the true story” is either a bizarre boast, or a humiliating typo. The main credits are written in Papyrus, for crying out loud!
By Greatest Hits, I mean actual ripoffs of other, more competent plots. Un Chien Andalou, The Shining, The Birds, and a lot of jump scares. This is in a sense a proto-The Conjuring.
