Freaks of Nature

Warm Bodies, but crazier, it’s the whole kitchen sink. Zombies, Vampires, Aliens, Werewolves, but also teen romance, jocks, stoners, and nerds.

It’s really a high school film, the extra twist is adding some orthogonal groups to the usual cliques: zombies, vampires, werewolves. Those are treated as matter-of-fact, not really supernatural characteristics. Just another way for people to discriminate and hate others.

Our 3 main protagonists follow the Harry Potter formula, and of course Hermione is the much better actor, the one that actually did other things afterwards.

  • Harry used to be a nerd, but he grew up quickly and distanced himself from the nerds.
  • Ron was his best friend, but he kept being a nerd. He clashes with his family that wants him in a dead end job, while he aspires for more.
  • Hermione is an orphan that was really focused on being deflowered by this vampire dickwad, but he thought “going all the way” meant turning her into a vampire. She gets along better with Harry.

They all lead their factions into saving the town by defeating the aliens. Our boy Potter ignores Big Titted Vanessa Hudgens (this is explicitly alluded to) over flat chested Mackenzie Davies, another win for good taste.

There’s a gaggle of secondary parts for talented actors to go to town on silly characters. Dennis Leary as the town businessman, that’s ridiculous.
