ALIEN³

Another Alien “sequel”, something that is technically a direct followup, but is in fact a whole other film. A crew of supermax prisoners have the hots for Ripley, but only the doctor gets a chance to relieve his blue balls, then he is brutally killed by the Alien.

A lot of smaller parts all around, for Hudson’s expies, to intelligent priests leading a flock of misguided murderers. The guards are not much better: besides the anti-heroic doctor, the warden is a control freak tyrant, but his second in command is the most pitiful of all character, a clinical moron with feelings.

The warden gets a death scene à-la Iraqui Communications Minister: nothing to see here, move along, there’s no Alien, just as the Alien grabs him from the ceiling.

In the end, there’s just a small chase sequence for the juvenile Alien to be killed, and so is the budding queen inside Ripley. Weyland-Yutani fails to retrieve the specimens.

This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
