Hollow Man
Truly an hollow man, before and after turning invisible. The nerds win! The guy in the convertible falls into the fire, while the woman driving the station wagon prevails, with science!
This is great, with inspired effects all around, holds up very well even after all these years. The plot is also great, and being a Paul Verhoeven film, there’s plenty of gore and gruesome visuals. It’s less well known than RoboCop, Total Recall, Starship Troopers, and it’s indeed smaller and simpler, but it’s a very well made film nonetheless.
The characters are all advanced scientists, so they are not stupid, they just have different personalities.
