Some minor parental bonus, with nods to Apple’s 1984 ad (how ironic), a Final Fantasy 7 character, and Blade Runner. For younger adults, there’s the core Dora the Explorer expy.
Politically, there’s a strike where workers in cubicles rebel against the voices telling them what to do and break their pencils. That was the nod to Apple’s ad, seems they sneaked that in without Disney’s approval. I like that the ends keeps the fact whether she was selected for the team ambiguous, they resisted the climax subverting the message of the film.
