Madame Web
Cassandra Webb, crikey. She even goes blind in the end, can it be even more on the nose?
Having Sydney Sweeney is a Catholic schoolgirl outfit is a joke, right? Is it a weird sex thing? She’s the goody-two shoes, with the unrevealing outfits.
The other two stereotypes are the cool skater girl with rich aloof parents, and the smart but DREAMer girl, with the dad busted by ICE.
The story eventually gets into the weeds of conservative values: the arc of our protagonist is accepting her god-given capacity to raise children. At first, she gets very defensive about family, finding a partner, the whole thing, but when she sees some girls being murdered, she kidnaps them, taking the babies herself. The babies get Stockholm Syndrome and imprint on her, and by then she fully embraces her mommy instincts and saves her from a rapist who wants to take advantage of teenagers to stop them from destroying him in the future.
This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
