What If
Some supremely talented people doing their best to bring to life a not really good rom com. The individual scenes are good, but not the overarching plot. It’s sad, really.
Wait, this called “The F-Word”? I prefer that name really, it’s all about the interplay between friendship and romance. Pretty retrograde, the husband that really hates her partner having male friends, the actual lack of possible friendship across gender gaps.
The first thing I saw from Zoe Kazan was The Plot Against America, I though she was a young mother, not an “actual” young woman. She is simply adorable. I was also sold that Daniel Radcliffe was an insecure everyman, he’s that good.
As his friend and future wife, you get Adam Driver and Mackenzie Davis, as the extremely cool young couple. Christ, she is so cool, it should be illegal. Adam Driver is not even doing his Patterson schtick, he’s playing it cool actually.
The beta couple has more chemistry that the official one. Everyone marries in the end, except her sister and her permanently single friends, just a bunch of living props.
This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
