Her Private Hell
That’s a Refn film all right. A near dialogue-free opera filled with neon, rhinestones, and leather jackets.
Now with Kavinsky dead, the music is all hardcore orchestral, bombastic, makes Hans Zimmer seem like Philip Glass. There’s only a small nightclub scene, no more synthwave.
Why is the protagonist so cruel to her stepmother/lover? It’s truly undeserved, she is so nice to her. Except that time, offscreen, and unexplained. Is this a porn thing?
Sometimes, they get along very well, pretending to be dogs for a loong time.
Besides the protagonist “subplot”, there’s also the soldier “subplot”, they are both tracking down the Leatherman, a serial killer hunting down… I guess everyone, since the world has nothing but our characters.
Besides the protagonist from Heretic and Companion, I only recognised the main dude from Babylon, with an earring, and the same accent.
