Ice Age
This is indeed a much a tamer version of Tokyo Godfathers, but it’s good enough for a kids movie. I watched the Portuguese version with real voice actors, but would really like to see Dennis Leary as Diego.
It’s quite dark, but that is pushed to subtext. Diego is a killer that changes his mind after the baby considers him part of the pack and gets saved by the leader, Sid is a dilettante womaniser who gets no arc because he is the comic relief, and Manny is just John Wick. In the end they don’t get together with their estranged families, which are no longer in play, they make their own.
