The distillation of all fame-related works mixed with a psycho-thriller, and there’s even time for a story within a story.
Not many films can have a series of reactions “That’s fucked up”, followed by “That’s even more fucked up!”, always upping the ante. No good deed goes unpunished for our protagonist.
After getting the short end of the stick when migrating from Idoru to “serious” actress, the pressure gets to her, her agent and her Idoru fans. Madness ensues.
I can see why Fincher wanted to nick this story so bad for Black Swan.
