Die Welle

Heil Teacher! The simplifier in chief. Group dynamics do most of the work, it only needs a small push.

With Goebbels and mass media, you could drive an advanced nation to total war, re-fighting a war that Napoleon lost 100 years before. Never sold as conquest or invasion, protecting comrades abroad, or Lebensraum. Good people do something, but that is too little, too late.

The scariest part of all is that this film is only the rise of the Nazis until the Beer Hall Putsch, pre-Mein Kampf. Once the ball starts rolling, it gets harder and harder to stop. That’s the power of the masses, it overwhelms the individuals. Being out of control is the point, we can only avoid it in the first place.

Wait a second, this director ended up directing Mechanic: Ressurrection? What the hell!

This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
