A modern, post-Snowden, low budget Strange Days. The murder investigation framing device kinda defeats the point of the story.

In a future where telescreens are in our eyes, being able to hack the mainframe is magic, particularly in realtime. The police chief says it all, the integrity of the system is paramount. More that the five victims now dead.

Sad that Andrew Niccol got blacklisted somewhere and can’t get bigger budgets to realise grander visions, the ideas are still there.

The low budget is hacked around though: copious product placement, tastefully introduced in the AR environments, cyberspace controlled with the mind, where people meet in rooms to stare into the void (like now, but using screens), minimalist set design.

This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
