Reality

Reality Winner is an American hero, and now there’s the modern equivalent of a bronze plaque on a bench in a public park: a prestige no-budget filmed play, consisting of the FBI transcripts, where she is played by the latest sex symbol trying to upgrade their career into serious films, not just schlock.

This is a very slow burner, it also illustrates the insidiousness of the FBI interrogation techniques, just friendly gotcha questions, interspersed with ice breakers and quips to break the concentration.

The glitches marking the redactions are visually interesting, I thought this was going to be stripped of all real-life parallels, but then The Intercept is explicitly named, as are screenshots of the actual site, links to a Secure Drop website. The only part I wasn’t really aware is one of the stated reasons for a leak. She was eager to be deployed and was broken by having to inhale Fox News all day, ranting and downplaying what she new for a fact it was true.

Her crime was leaking a single page document that proved GRU tried to interfere with elections (maybe unsuccessfully?), so she is hated by MAGA for proving Russian interference took place, and by liberals for proving it was pitiful, not the main reason Hillary lost.

As for the film itself, it’s a filmed play, basically set in the house, with some insert shots of the office, the glitches where the redactions were included, it’s simple. At first, the redactions cover all the juicy bits: The Intercept, Internet Research Agency, Trump. But they eventually talk about it, towards the end.

Bonus appearance by Kristal Ball on the Tucker Carlson show, still on Fox News. The Dominion voting machine 750 million dollar settlement was far in the future.
