Black Hawk Down
Is this a Sikorsky ad? Maybe an anti-ad, since two 10 million dollar gunships are shot down by simple unguided RPG. Sounds like a skill issue from the largest military in the world.
This is extremely long, extremely packed with known actors without space to shine, extremely pointless action scenes that go on and on and on, and po-faced “realism”. Civilians are slaughtered left and right by everyone, but the heroes respect the kids, ironically.
Why are there so many people from the UK as Americans and Somalis, with silly accents? I spotted large parts of the Trainspotter cast, Tom Hardy, Reed Richards, even Kingsley Shacklebolt as a Somali warlord.
This starts bad from the first sounds, why does Somalia have the same sound style as Far Cry 2? Africa is not a country.
Oh boy, should I search for more information about this “Civil War” the US intervened in? How do 300k people get killed, who supplied the weapons? What are the Pakistanis doing there while Americans are being slaughtered? How much did the US pay General Zia, maybe not enough for him to send the tanks?
The company clerk pressed into service as an infantryman is named “Grimes” in the film, as the actual Ranger who was in this situation was later sent to prison for rape and child molestation.
Oh, that was the hotshot played by Ewan McGregor? Who did he rape, Anakin?
Why do the US general looks and sounds exactly like Joe Biden, even though he is supposed to be a Texan.
This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
