Unfriended

The one that launched “massive” franchise. This is Final Destination meets I Know What You Did Last Summer, a bog standard horror film focused on bullying and mental health in the digital age.

All teenagers are fucking around, they have their cellphones with them constantly, and YouTube and Instagram already exists. That can only mean hard parties turning into fights mimicking silverback gorillas, girls shitting themselves, and YouTube videos being posted, with nasty comments. The main target of all this bullying just shot herself in the school, and one year later she haunts her bullies with their own failings.

These are some fucked up people, similar revelations lead to all of them killing themselves on camera, maybe possessed by the vengeful spirit of their ex-“friend”. It only takes a small nudge.

This is slightly higher budget than the Dark Web sequel, the interface cheats are minimal, but it doesn’t hit like the first time.

This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
