Bastille Day
A truly low rent “thriller” with some dogshit political implications for some reason. Direct-to-Streaming truly is the new direct-to-video.
The plot is all about some DGSI head pretending to be leftists and bombing a LePen party office, and blame it on Muslims, to provoke riots in the streets of France. This is a cover up to steal “digital currency” from the Bank of France.
This is wrong is so many ways. The Bank of France is a worthless piece of shit, the European Central Bank is the important one. Then the bank itself protects its treasures with silly locks on wooden doors, and glass doors on the inside. Preposterous.
Motherfucker, the gilet jaunes went to war over gas prices! The guy that saves the day is some CIA spook that override his handlers, and instead of being Epsteined, he roams free.
You can tell an American wrote this, the cop just kicks down doors like it’s all those shitty American doors, made of plywood or something. In inner city apartments in Paris, it’s hard to kick them down with a massive battering ram, let alone human kicks. Hell, just swinging them open is hard enough for able bodied adults.
This could all be filmed in some studio, Paris appears in bit parts and establishing shots.
It’s not Les Misérables.
This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
