I’m pretty sure this started with some The Thing fan scrolled Facebook and ended up on one of those couple accounts, and just took to the next level.
This being Australia, land of The Babadook, they went for the creepy horror, until the last third is more body horror, losing the jump scares and creepy darkness.
Dave Franco has an annoying voice, I can’t shake the feeling of him being an asshole (Love Lies Bleeding, etc), but he’s fine. Alison Brie is fine too. The script must have been written by a divorced person, there are brutal takedowns.
Apparently, in China they replaced the neighbouring gay couple with an heterosexual one, why bother with a minor sideshow that appears for a couple seconds?
