Nuremberg

What a terrible film about an interesting time. The reaction shots to the film shown on the court are offensive and abhorrent, do people need emotional manipulation to find footage of bodies being shovelled with a backhoe moving?

That is the worse part, it treats the viewers as absolute idiots. Everyone explains everything directly, there’s no nuance, no implied statements. Just a barrage of “information”. Then everyone also screams a lot, and the music is an overbearing wall of sound, crashing like a wave.

The subject matter would require sombre and reserved tone, or go apeshit like Tarantino, it doesn’t make much sense to mix it up with jokes.

As I saw mentioned somewhere, Michael Shannon should be the main character, he’s the guy that sacrifices a Supreme Court justice position for a chance to participate in a literal sham trial for the cameras.

Even if Göring “won” the verbal spat, what would they do, take over the country? They can get in line.

I was wracking my brain trying to think where did I see the prosecutor’s assistant, it’s the shrink from Person of Interest. Russell Crow seems perfect for the role of fat guy with an accent.

Just watch anything else: The Zone of Interest, Collette, Anthropoid, Come and See, or Night Will Fall. Hell, even Saving Private Ryan is better.

This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
