Excuse me, in what pocket universe is this in any way a thinly veiled reference into Israel? The fake Netanyahu is a Russian and the phoney Palestinians are Indians! Rafah is already a literal quarry before the soldiers come in, instead of a poor modern city.
That shot has got to be an op to sell yet another generic superhero film, with a sort of keystone army (technically, they are all Blackwater dudes) and a lot of god-rays. This has literally less evocative messages than The Creator.
The casting is weird. The guy from The Wire doesn’t even say shiiiiit, the girl from Sicario: Day of the Soldado keeps screaming a lot, Sara Sampaio’s sexy selfies are a plot point, but the cake has to be taken by casting Pruitt Taylor Vince as Kent Senior, a sensitive burly dude. You mean the guy from Constantine, etc, etc?
I don’t really care about the rest of the people, not even the dude from Pearl, whatever. The tech guy is almost the main character anyway. Not a lovely day for Nicholas Hoult.
