  • City Slickers

Daddy Issues: The Film. Should have been directed by Spielberg.

  • Delicatessen

Jeunet (and Marc Caro) plant the seeds of The City of Lost Children. C’est magnifique

  • Highlander II: The Quickening

In 2024 (the hypothetical end of Biden’s first term), the ozone layer is kaput, and Earth is an irradiated hot mess. The Sunrise Movement has gone rogue into ecoterrorism, lead by a future Bene Gesserit.

  • Barton Fink

A writer going crazy, or is it? What’s in the box, what’s in the box? What’s in the box, is it the same thing as Se7en? ‘Cause I think it is…

  • Shout

Footloose meets Hairspray. Came for Linda Fiorentino, but she’s only a bit part, as the speakeasy owner. The lead is literally a James Dean clone, a dead ringer.

  • Hudson Hawk

This is an incredible mix of musical, stereotypical James Bond flick, and noir adventure, in that order. Mamma mia!

  • Suburban Commando

Hulk Hogan is not Batista, much less The Rock. He’s just a washed out wrestler trying and failing to make the leap into acting, but he just don’t have what it takes.

  • Hot Shots

What can I say, this is another ZAZ flick, with only some of those letters. Mostly parodying Top Gun, but also very obscure deep cuts I didn’t catch. It’s fine.

  • JFK

This is a squeaky fucking clean Hollywood film, about as left wing as morally possible in America: the f-word (fascism) is dropped only once in the final monologue.

  • Father of the Bride

It’s not THAT funny, but what can you expect from a goofy Disney cash in on those comedian people they have in storage, with every single bit of edge sanded down to nubbins.
