Blade II
A higher budget cannot hide the outdated CGI, but is great despite that. The characters are just awesome!
The Bloodpack has personality, even if it’s mostly vampire supremacists ranting about pure bloods. Even Donnie Yen that doesn’t even say a word is more memorable than most superhero semi-antagonists. He does use katanas even though he’s from China (Hong Kong?)…
Whistler is brought back with a silly retcon, but it doesn’t even matter. Norman Reedus is the annoying replacement tech dude, doesn’t hold a candle to old faithful and turns evil on a dime, tying up loose ends. Really looks something they pulled out of their asses on the spot.
This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
