X-Men: Apocalypse
The X-Men lore is shot to hell anyway, who gives a shit about what happens here? I’m just here for J-Law. Bryan Singer does Denial from the Nazi side.
There is absolutely no drama once Quicksilver is introduced. He could solve it all immediately, but doesn’t want to. He is moping about Magneto being his father, I don’t think this has ever come up.
Besides Magneto, the Apocalypse guy chooses other there lieutenants: Angel (but not a teenager now), Psylock (Olivia Munn in a skimpy purple leotard), and Storm (evil Egyptian version). The silliness was par for the course, but why did Olivia Munn visit Auschwitz in her undies? Then they destroy any proof of that death camp. What kind of shit is this?
Of course nobody cares about anything, Storm turns good and is well regarded, even though she literally tried to destroy the world a few days before. Fucking Werner Von Braun up the wazoo. Characters that were mentors turn to teenage mentees.
This is my place for ramblings about sequences of images that exploit the human visual limitation know as persistence of vision.
